Disney Fund Update

Once my Epinions, BlueHost and freelance project checks get deposited, I will officially have $1,919.00 saved up for the Disney trip. I have another $241 still to be paid out from PPP, which will bring the tally to 2,160.00. That’s awesome!

The OT I earned in February went to pay the costs for the switch in daycare. That’s a bummer because I had about $400 more in my paycheck for February!! But I’ve already got 5 hours of OT for March and it’s only the 4th. I’m pretty sure I’ll be working again this weekend for Mr. BIL’s last mediation before his vacation, so that’ll take it up to at least 8 hours of OT for the month. So that should bring my Disney fund up to $2,360.00 by the end of March.

I’m hoping I can do another $100 or so of PPP in the next few weeks. The opps have not been things I’m willing to post about, which is a bummer. But with any luck I’ll be able to get at least another 10 or so opps done before my April 24 deadline. And of course, any OT in April will also get paid out before our trip.

We have yet to turn in our taxes – I know, I know. This happens every year. I intended to turn them in this past weekend but it turns out that Denis hadn’t pulled all the paperwork we needed to turn them in. With any luck we’ll have that done by THIS weekend so I can drop them off. I know we won’t get our tax returns back before our vacation (unless by some miracle), but I’m content with the amount I’ve managed to save up for the trip. The tickets are cover, and I’m on track to have about $1,200 to cover miscellaneous costs like gas, groceries for the timeshare, parking costs, meals in the parks (since we’re eating most breakkies and dinners at the timeshare, that cost should be relatively low) and other miscellaneous expenses. That’s about $171 a day – more than reasonable, I think.

Let’s worry less on when we get them out the door and more on if we will be getting money back this year. I have a feeling we aren’t looking at as much as usual. Just hope we don’t owe. That would put a crimp in your Disney Trip savings.

Denis, I never included the income tax refund for the disney trip, so I’m not worried about that. That was really only going to fill the gap if I wasn’t able to earn the amount I was hoping for (which is around $2,750) to ensure a truly cash-only vacation.
