…make me wish I had a swimming pool to go home to. This weekend it was BEAUTIFUL and HOT here in South Carolina. My kids actually got sunburns at the park yesterday afternoon. And it’s MARCH. Today it’s in the mid-to-upper 70s. I just saw that NYC is experiencing mid-50s right now. DC is doing a bit better at mid-60s.
I can’t WAIT for the community pool to open. I’ll be there every night after work with the kids. But I do wish we had our own pool so that I don’t have to keep “public pool” hours. Especially when it’s gonna be sweltering this summer.
Last night we actually had to turn on the air-conditioning upstairs. CootieBoy’s room was SO HOT I knew there was no way he’d fall asleep. We had the windows open all day and it was quite nice, but the heat seemed to center on his room by the end of the day. I think the key will be to put a fan upstairs in the hallway to get the air moving in and out of CootieGirl and CootieBoy’s rooms a bit better. I think it’s in the garage – maybe I’ll pull that out tonight.
Also, the one bad thing about the heat is that the bees are in constant motion. You have to duck and cover from the car to the front door. And yesterday we had our first flying invader – a yellowjacket made it into the house. We don’t know how, but we had to pull out a ladder to get to it (it was in the upper window in our two-story foyer).
But hey – I’ll take the bees for weather like this (yes, I know I say that now…)!
