Cut-Throat Survivor

For the past few seasons of “Survivor” I have been heading up team at an online pool website. I’m also on my third season of playing Out Pick’em, which is a mini-Survivor game within the pool. It’s a lot of fun (in a way that Second Life is NOT fun). This year the smack talkin’ started early, after my team voted out the person that had the highest points on our team. In past years, the team with the highest points wins immunity for the week, but this year the website admin changes the rules and now immunity can be based on ANYTHING – from the number of posts by each team on the message board to how many times you log in during the week. It’s a total crap shoot, and NOT strictly based on which team earned the most points.

Anyway, my team voted out the person with the highest points last week. Someone on the opposing team basically emailed everyone involved with our game and said we were idiots for voting him out. Let the smack talk begin! It went back and forth all day yesterday between our team and the guy on the other team. By the time the episode aired last night, I know our whole team was PRAYING that we’d win immunity because we are confident that this guy is going to be on the chopping block.

With baited breath I logged in this morning. When it came to points, our team once again won the round, but the immunity results were not posted yet. I logged in again a little while ago. WE HAD WON!!! The immunity this week was based on number of private messages, and we easily won (I logged in the second-highest PMs for my team, at 20 during the week).

Sadly, I’ve been put on Exile Island this week, which means I am unable to PM or read the message boards, so I’ll have to wait until NEXT WEDNESDAY to see what went down. But I really hope that guy gets voted out. It would be sweet victory. And in case next week’s immunity is based on how quickly one’s picks for next week are made, I did mine this morning. The rest of the week I’ll keep logging in from time to time to try and find the immunity idol, if it hasn’t already been found.
