Crossing the T’s and Dotting The I’s

Last night I was up LATE. My last post was at 1 a.m. but I was actually up another hour past that. Why?

Well, I was surfing online, of course! And getting stuff gathered in preparation for the Scotland trip. We received a folder from the timeshare a couple days ago, and since it has a pocket inside I took out our tickets and our passports as well as anything I’d ever printed about Scotland and put it in the folder.

I then got all freaked out because I couldn’t find the hotel voucher that I had gotten from my frequent flyer miles. I spent a good 20-30 minutes looking throughout the entire first floor of the house – wherever there were papers, I went through them. It was at about 1:45 a.m. that I remembered that we used the voucher back in December when we went to NoNJ for the Christmas holiday. Remember the whole “it took us an hour to check in” debacle? Yeah, it was because of that voucher. Relieved that I wasn’t losing my mind (or at least, not all of it), I went to bed a few minutes later.

I’m getting excited about the trip – it’s our first vacation in a long time AND Denis and I will get to enjoy a whole week together without the kids. Don’t get me wrong – I love my kids. But sometimes you just need a break to wind down and escape for a while so that you can get recharged and come back rarin’ to go.

In other related timeshare news, I attempted to exchange a bonus week we had that expires on April 30, 2007, but they didn’t have anything available in South Carolina. I was hoping we could get a two bedroom in Hilton Head or Charleston in late April so that all four of us could go away for a quick weekend, but it’s not meant to be. They only had a mountain timeshare available in SC, or a crappy hotel in Virginia Beach. So I passed and we’ll have to let that bonus week expire unless we can find someone that we can give it to that doesn’t mind making last minute vacation plans.

You should see if your timeshare is available for Savannah –
it’s only about 45 minutes from Hilton Head, and there is
Tybee Island for the beach. Also, I’m not sure how far
Myrtle Beach is from you, – it’s super-tacky but kids
    love it!

Cristan – I did look at Savannah since it was so close to HHI, but there is nothing there. You’d think it would be early enough in the season that the beach stuff would be more available! I guess down here in SC they start going to the beach earlier than I’m used to!!

Did anyone at RCI tell you that you can put on extension on that week for $99 bucks so that you might find something in your timeframe? Or is an extension already factored in?
