It’s kind of surreal to see that the church where we got married has made Yahoo’s “front page” news – and that the priest who married us (Martyn Minns) is specifically mentioned in the article.
Truro is a good church – always has been. I considered it an honor to get married there since I wasn’t a member at the time (my parents’ church didn’t have a church building and Denis and I opted to get married elsewhere in my hometown).
It’s sad that the denomination is splitting – it has to be painful for all involved, and my prayers are with both sides.
Yeah, now the next hurdle for those congregations is the battle for the properties.
It’s really hard for me, since while I agree with Truro on many of the issues, I’m not sure that division is the solution. The church where I’m going now is “progressive” on many issues, and I just have to bite my tongue.
