The next time our Christmas decorations come out, we’ve decided to get rid of stuff we haven’t used in a few years. Because even after putting everything out, our Christmas closet still has a LOT of stuff in it that we’ve just held on to. We almost did it before we put all our stuff back a couple weeks ago, but just didn’t have the energy (or desire, to be honest). So that’s on our agenda for this November.
Not on our agenda? Buying more Christmas stuff. We definitely have enough, even though there are some good sales right now for LED Christmas Lights.
In a side note, I noticed this morning that our neighbors still have their lights up. I think they are the only ones on our street who still have decorations up (although thankfully they don’t turn them on at night anymore).
Our lights are still up as well but at least we have turned them off. Have been too sick to put anything away until today. We won’t be setting a new record, though, for the latest date for keeping the stuff up. The previous winner was Christmas/New Year’s ’95-’96, which was immediately followed by the infamous blizzard of ’96 which arrived on January 6-7. We were able to get some of the outside stuff down beforehand but the rest didn’t get packed away until everything melted, which was late January.
