Last night was a productive night. I managed to transplant some of my flowers from the backyard to the front. A large bunch of Black-eyed Susans and some Autumn Joy Sedum. It’ll add some nice color to an otherwise green frontyard landscape. Try as I might I just can’t get anything with color to stay alive in the front area. But BES and AJS are hardy and should make it.
Then I started laundry. I hate doing laundry – and I don’t even know why. It’s not like I’m out there with a metal bucket and a clapboard scrubbing the clothes myself and running them through a wringer. I’m just put them into the washer and adding detergent. But there’s something about the phrase “I’ve got to do laundry,” that makes me groan in misery.
After dinner I got to work on making two pies. I made the strawberry-rhubarb pie for Jhames, and it looks fabulous. I can’t vouch for the taste though – it could be horrible. But it’s my first attempt at a lattice top pie, and it looks quite lovely. Then I made the pie for my officemates – a French Silk pie (otherwise known as “chocolate pie”). I also took the time to bring in whipped cream for the pies as well. These people should LOVE me for the things I do for them.
