I’ve been back from my vacation for almost a week now – and what a wonderful vacation it was. A mix of relaxing and working, it was nice to get away for a week and ignore real life for a while.
Our last day of the trip was not what I expected. Meredyth ended up hating Las Vegas upon first sight and so we didn’t do much of anything other than grab some lunch, drop off the rental car, walk back to our hotel (the Stratosphere) and hang out in our room avoiding obnoxious cigarette smoke. I head down to the casino by myself at one point to play a little roulette for about 20-30 minutes (and lost all but $20 of the amount I had budgeted for myself). Other than that we just made sure to get a good night’s sleep before being picked up at 6 a.m. the following morning to go to the airport.
My flights home were uneventful, however I sat next to a VERY twitchy man on my first flight and wish I had upgraded to first class when the opportunity presented itself. But I fought the urge and remained in my back-of-the-plane seat, much to my chagrin when Twitchy sat next to me.
Since returning home I’ve been working on freelance stuff (I have a total of 7 hours that need to be transcribed by next Wednesday – which sounds easy, but it’s not). I didn’t do any freelance on Monday or Tuesday, so I’m hoping to do some catching up on it this weekend. It looks like I’ll be averaging 4 hours of audio transcription a week from now through the end of April, on two separate projects. I’m happy about that because it’s extra money, but I’m happy that I had to get right back into it after such a lovely, relaxing week!
Work has been great this week – they were all very happy to have me back, and I’ve been very busy. While I was in Vegas I colored my hair (I’m blonde again) and they were all shocked to see it upon my return. Since October I’ve been the same color and they had no idea that I frequently like to change colors. So when I walked in shockingly blonde they were all freaked out. Little do they know that in August I’ll be going RED for the fall… *lol*
And that’s about it, really. Not much else to tell right now. It’s going to rain here this weekend, so I have no idea what we’ll be doing for the next couple of days. Cleaning house? Laundry? Definitely typing. Who knows what else?
I ran across your engagement picture the other day, probably the most beautiful picture ever taken of you, and was reminded of how much I love you as a blond. Post pics!
Glad you enjoyed your vacation. DogTown sounds like a wonderful place. I have donated to BestFriends in the past.
Catching up is the hardest part, but you are doing well. What I see missing is your Idol predictions now that the final 12 have been announced. Sorry, not on facebook, so if you posted there I won’t see them.
I like you as a blond too.
Lila, you haven’t seen much talk about this seasons AI because this season SUCKS. There are only two contestants I like (Casey and Crystal) and I doubt they’ll win. So I’m not as invested as I have been in past seasons. Plus, I’m still bitter about premature exit of Ricky Braddy last year.
But now that we’ve got our Top 12, I just might start blogging about it again.
