Hey all (well, all six of you).
No calls yet on the jobs. I went from uber-confident I’d get three offers to nothing. Nada. Today I emailed two of the jobs to find out if there was an update on the hiring status. Haven’t gotten a response yet.
Denis and I went to see a women’s roller derby game last night. It was a lot of fun and I definitely want to go back, taking the kids next time. There were about 1,000 people in attendance, and the game only took 60 seconds to figure out.
I’ve been doing the Couch to 5K running program for a couple weeks now. I haven’t really mentioned it here, but I do have a running widget in my right sidebar that shows my runs/walks. I was able to do Week 1 with no problems, but Week 2 is kicking my butt. Today should have been the last day doing Week 2, but I think I’ll be doing it at least 2-3 times because I have yet to actually DO the whole set of intervals for week two! I have a deadline of sorts to accomplish the goal – I’ve signed up for a 5K run in Charlotte on the morning of October 31.
Not much else going on. This week I have a couple freelance things to get done, as well as stuff around the house. I continue to send out my resume in the hopes of getting more interviews. I have two months worth of unemployment left before the payments get reduced by 40%.
Hit up the grocery store today – using coupons which were super-doubled (meaning they doubled coupons from $1-2 as well), I managed to spend only $26.40 for $84.43 worth of groceries. My best deal was for dishwashing detergent – I had some $1.50 coupons that could be doubled, but the Dawn detergents were on sale for $1.99. So I basically got the detergent for free PLUS overage. I was able to do that deal twice because I had two $1.50 coupons. I also had three $1 coupons that were doubled for the same dish detergent, making those three free. And lastly, when you apply the overage to the large Cascade dishwasher detergent in addition to my $1 coupon which was doubled, then I essentially got a large bottle of Cascade for only a dollar. Nice!! The other good deal was getting two bottles of shampoo for cheap. They were on sale 2/$5, and I had two $1 coupons that were doubled – making each bottle only 50 cents. I LOVE bargain grocery shopping.
That’s it for now. I’m off to go make some lunch and start a load of laundry. Later, taters!
Your grocery shopping skill is inspiring!
I’m sorry about your disappointing interviews.
