I never did report back on what was happening with our truck. I turned it in to the shop last Thursday to be looked at, and the mechanic determined that it was the air conditioner compressor. He gave me a quote, which was high. My mom recommended I call a Ford dealership to get an estimate from them. I called a local dealership and described the repair recommended by the mechanic. The dealership confirmed that the quote I got was a good one as the mechanic could repair it cheaper than the dealership could. So on Friday I called the mechanic back and approved the work to be done. Since it was a holiday weekend chances are that the shop didn’t begin work on my car until today. Tomorrow morning I plan on calling to find out the status of the repairs and when I might expect getting the truck back.
