Today I’m all out of focus. It’s not a vision thing like it was when I switched from glasses to contact lenses. I’m over that now and am quite used to wearing my contact lenses all day long now.
No, this is just a don’t-want-to-be-at-work-doing-work-stuff type lack of concentration. I see the incredible blue sky out Mr. BIL’s windows and think, “I should be home gardening, or reading a book, or taking a nap.” NO DESIRE TO WORK TODAY.
In other news, last night I bought a screenhouse for my art/craft fairs. We went to the grocery store and they had one – complete with screen walls – on sale for $80. That’s WAY cheaper than anything I’d seen online, and they had one set up so I could see just how big it was. It was perfect, so we got it. It’ll be nice in the backyard to shield the kids from the hot sun this summer (yes, it will be doing double duty). So now that I have the screenhouse I need to start working on my actual booth interior – real walls and such on which to hang my artwork when I go to fairs.
I did post a new painting over at Etsy (see Mini Etsy to the right – it’s the navy/white teapot). I also got three more paintings prepped last night after Denis got home from his trip to Virginia. A soccer ball, a teacup, and another teapot. Hopefully tonight once the kids are in bed I can bring my paint stuff out to the tv and paint in all three while watching “Heroes”.
And I wonder when my glasses are gonna come in, anyway. Maybe I’ll call over there today to see if they came in but no one bothered to call. Although I won’t be able to pick them up until the weekend since they keep stupid short hours (9-6).
Lastly, once thing we’ve been teaching CootieGirl is to not say, “Shut up”. She said it a few weeks ago and when I asked her where she heard that, she said her teacher at school. … I told her that we don’t speak like that at home, and that we say, “Be quiet” instead. She took in that information, and now whenever she hears someone say “shut up” she immediately reports it to me with a woeful tone that someone would say that phrase. Yesterday we were watching “Monsters Inc.” and one of the characters said “shut up.” CootieGirl immediately turned to me with a shocked look, and said, “Mama, he said shut up!” As if she was surprised that a cartoon would be so coarse.
