I heart the new Target by my office. So convenient I can’t even tell you.
I ran over there today to get my White Elephant gift (which is AWESOME, by the way, and I may steal it for myself if I get the opportunity). I also took the time to pick up some Christmas Angel Tree stuff – our church is working with another church and an urban restoration group in Charlotte to organize an actual storefront this year, so that parents in impoverished neighborhoods can still be empowered to buy gifts for a fraction of the cost for their kids. The money would then go back into the joint ministries that serve the greater Charlotte metro area. I had a ticket for teenage girl stuff, so I bought a purse, makeup bag, blow dryer, flat iron, and clock radio. At the store, these items will get marked down (maybe with a 75% discount?) and then parents would come in, and anyone with a teenager who would be interested in those things could buy them at that discounted price. What a great way to give dignity back to these parents who otherwise wouldn’t be able to provide Christmas gifts for their children!
I also picked up socks for CootieBoy – the ones he has now barely fit.
Then I ran over to Wendy’s so I could pick up some of their condiment cups to use for the jello shots we’re making for tomorrow’s party.
So it was a very successful trip to Target.
