Just read the headline on Yahoo News: “Bush wipes away Libby’s prison sentence.” Anybody disagree that George Bush is the worst president in American history? The most corrupt administration? The most lawless? The most useless? The most partisan? History will not be kind to you, George Bush.

I was waiting for this – As I was feeding Finnian this morning and
listening to the news, I was wondering to myself what Denis was going
to post on Cootiehog today …*lol*
Two other names come to mind ~ Warren G. Harding and Jimmy Carter, and there are so many more. Our country’s citizens, old and young, need to go back to American History class to get a better view of history’s “big picture” as well as what occured in the 20 years (read about the Carter administration and how it made deplorable mistakes in managing the Iran Hostage Crisis) that preceded the war on terror. It would also benefit people to round out their reading to something other than the New York Times and WAshington Post to get a more balanced view.

i am so uneducated when it comes to constitutional matters, but after reading the section (Article 2, Section 2) about the President’s authority concerning pardons, i can’t find anything that shows his actions were unconstitutional – is there an amendment I’m missing that spells it out more clearly?
(this is not supposed to be a sarcastic comment either – i really am a constitutional dummy!!)

BTW, Annie, you are NOT uneducated! You’re homeschooling education is far superior to a lot of the high school student graduates from the last ten years. Shawn Hannity had his “man on the street” interviews today and one lady ~ and I kid you not ~ was asked what war brought our country’s independence and from whom and she said, “WWI” with a question mark and couldn’t say from whom. Oh, and get this, she is a teacher… Lord help us. Really.
i’m sure we covered the Constitution at some point in my education, but that was LONG ago… i can’t even remember the preamble that i allegedly memorized way back when 😉
at least i know the Revolutionary War from the first World War!
The problem is they got the wrong guy, Libby didn’t even do it. He was taking the fall for Cheney. “Losing” emails, not turning over records, abuse of power, we could go on. There is no way this administration even comes close to Carter’s. Where’s Michael Moore when you need him? I love you too, Marmie. I just hate Bush (and his cronies).
Love him or hate him, I think we can all agree on this, Bush is a divider, not a uniter. And divided we fall.
And Beau has enough sense to stay away from this conversation or others like it. Good for you, Beau. And good for you, Jaynee! I hate having this conversation myself, but Bush makes me so upset. I’m happy they’ll be able to take me off the blood pressure medication as of January 20, 2009.
