Book: Super Mom Saves The World

I have to admit that I have not read the prequal to this book. I also have to admit that the author sent me a free copy a few weeks back (along with a box of Swiffers – yay!). So that might have made me a bit bias about Melanie Lynne Hauser’s book. However, despite feeling like I’m a semi-acquaintance/net buddy to MLH, I read this with a completely unbiased mind.

And loved it.

It’s an easy read – pure fluffy indulgence – and worth every turn of the page. I loved the pop culture references (MLH obviously worships American Idol and has no less than Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell and Kelly Clarkson all appearing in her book), and the witty interactions that our heroine, Birdie, has with her kids (specifically in relation to her teen daughter getting a driver’s license).

The basic premise of the SuperMom books? From Booklist:

Birdie Lee of Astro Park, Kansas, is like every divorced mom raising two teenagers, except for her secret life as Super Mom. After an accident involving household cleaners, she was transformed into a squirt-bottle-wielding superhero with the ability to sense when children are in danger.

I say all the time that I’m not some fancy reviewer and that I can’t wax poetic about why I like or dislike a book. I just know whether I like something, and state that opinion.

And so, I urge you to go out and buy the book, and read her blog, and support this writer. You won’t be disappointed!
