For my birthday in June I received the other two installments of the Fitzwilliam Darcy trilogy. I had been warned already by various reviews at Amazon that the second book was not that great, mainly because there was no interaction between Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett. It was a completely superfluous book that added nothing whatsoever to the “Pride & Prejudice” story other than fleeting references to Darcy being unable to forget about Elizabeth during his travels.
Bitterly disappointing, and I am only heartened that I have the third book to look forward to, which starts when Mr. Darcy presents himself to Elizabeth to announce “In vain have I struggled, it will not do. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.”
*besotted sigh*
Have you read “Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife”? We read it in our neighborhood book club – it’s pretty steamy! haha! Nothing’s as good as the original, but this is entertaining, if you don’t get hung up on comparisons.
No, but I’ve heard of that one. I think it got mixed reviews on Amazon, so I passed in favor of the Darcy trilogy.
Sighhhhh…
