This book took me forever to read. Partly because I don’t have a lot of time to read with my new commuting situation, but also because about halfway through this book got very monotonous and more than a little boring.
All That Lives is the tale of Betsy Bell, a young girl living in the early 1800s whose Tennessee farming family is pestered by a poltergeist. Supposedly this book is a fictional account of an actual Tennessee ghost story and the premise is certainly interesting.
I can’t recommend this book only because the last 20 pages, which should have had an amazing payoff, just kind of petered out – there was no real resolution and no true “end” to the story. And not in a good “I can’t wait for the sequel!” way.
Very disappointing and not worth the time it took to get this story done.
