Left daycare at 8:35 a.m. Arrived at my desk at 10:04 a.m. Traffic was BAD today due to an accident on I-77 North. I never actually saw the accident since I got off at Exit 6 (the accident was at Exit 7). The really bad section was Exit 3 to Exit 4. That area is slow ANYway because of a merge from I-485. But add an accident? It took me thirty minutes to go that one mile. THIRTY MINUTES.
Fortunately, commutes like that are VERY rare, so I can’t complain too much. And I kept Mr. BIL in the loop by calling every 15 minutes to let him know where I was. And I’ll just skip lunch today to make up for the lost hour. No biggie.
I did get an email from Denis this morning that his plane left at 11:59 p.m. last night and arrived in NYC at 1:30 a.m. He called a while ago and added that there were HUNDREDS of bags in the baggage claim area waiting for their owners. Fortunately he found his relatively quickly and was on his way to the hotel to get a few hours sleep before waking this morning for his first meeting.
