Things are back to normal – CootieBoy is at daycare (with eyedrops for his mild case of pinkeye), and my desk isn’t littered with paperclips and coloring pages.
Denis was able to get CootieBoy’s eyedrops last night and we put in a dose before he went to bed. He was NOT happy about that and it was the only negative part of his day, I think.
Around 11:30 p.m. I heard a loud thump upstairs, and figured CootieGirl had fallen out of her bed. I didn’t rush up there at first because I know that when she has fallen out of bed before, she just curls up on the floor and goes back to sleep without missing a beat. However, a few moments after the thump last night I began hearing wails and realized it was COOTIEBOY that had fallen out of bed.
I raced up those stairs so fast! When I opened the door he was standing next to his bed, holding his head, his face buried in his blanket. I swooped him up into a hug and asked him if he hit his head? He said yes and showed me that he hit his head on the nearby toy drawer. I immediately moved it away from the bed and put pillows next to the bed in case he fell out again. At that point Denis was in the room and he and CootieBoy laid down together while CootieBoy resettled into sleep.
He went back to daycare this morning and was quite happy to be there. He won’t be happy when they pin him down to put in the eyedrops in the afternoon. *lol* But for the time being, he was happy to be there.
The director of the daycare told me this morning that yesterday she received a call from a mom who was bringing her child back today after a lengthy absence. Apparently the mom ONLY NOW told the director that her kid had pinkeye! The director told her, “You know, by not informing us the day you first kept him home, four kids have now come down with pinkeye because we weren’t aware of the need to take pre-emptive measures. You need to inform us when your child is kept home with something contagious.”
Okay, back to work!
