Back on the Exercise Wagon

I’m officially back on the exercise wagon again. We recently got a used exercise bike from a friend at church, and we have it up in our bedroom. Denis has already used it a couple times and this morning I hopped on. It’s an older LifeCycle but it still lets you put in a program and how long you want to go. I put in that I wanted to go 18 minutes and after about 12 minutes I couldn’t go anymore. My legs were killing me. *lol* That’s terrible – yes, I know! You don’t have to tell me! But tonight I’ll get back on and do another 12 minutes for a total of 24 minutes today. And my toe still has mild twinges as the crack finishes healing, but with any luck by tomorrow morning I’ll be able to break out my WiiFit or Dance Dance Revolution and do some stuff on there.

As for my weight – I’ve gained back some of the weight I lost in 2008. My mission is to lose 30 pounds from what I weigh today. I’d LIKE to lose it by the time we head to the beach in May for my cousin’s wedding, but at this point I’d settle for 20 pounds by then. Today also starts back the 1350 calories-a-day diet that my medical study requires. I’ve been VERY VERY lax (read: haven’t been doing it at all) since October and I need to start that again. It’s true that writing down everything you eat WORKS because I was dropping weight like crazy when I counted every calorie that went in my mouth. I just need to get Denis to remember that I can’t have these big dinners anymore unless it’s a rare splurge – like once every six weeks or so.
