I guess my kids are meant to be sick on their second birthday. CootieGirl was sick for hers, and now CootieBoy is sick for his. He’s not nearly as bad as she was, but he (and I) have been up since about 2 a.m. He finally has the cold I’ve been suffering with all week and has been sleeping very fitfully. He refuses to sleep in his own bed OR in our bed. So we’ve been going from couch to couch in the living room, from pillow to pillow, over the past 4 1/2 hours. He’ll sleep for 5-10 minutes and then wake up with a cry and ask to be moved to a different place, or a different position. Sometimes laying on me, sometimes directly on the sofa. I had music playing on the computer along with a fishtank screensaver, which made him happy for a while. Then he wanted to play with his new Blue’s Clues toy and got upset when I told him he had to wait until tomorrow to play. All I know is I’m VERY tired because I’ve taken Nyquil a couple times this evening (once before I went to bed and again at 4 a.m.) and my body wants SLEEP due to the medication.
Update at 12:30 p.m. Oh, and who’s the one CootieBoy decides to throw up on when all is said and done? ME. Around 7 a.m. both CootieGirl and Denis woke up for the day, and I passed over CootieBoy to Denis, who sat and cuddled with the fussy boy for about an hour or so. At 8:30 a.m. I said to Denis, “I’m going to bed since I’ve been up all night,” and CootieBoy started fussing and implied he wanted to go with me. So I picked him up from Denis’ lap and he promptly threw up all over me. Twice.
