Yesterday was another whirlwind evening. I picked up the kids from daycare and had just sat them down with some Spaghetti-os when the babysitter arrived. Or, the babysitter’s MOTHER arrived, I should say. The actual babysitter was still babysitting for another neighbor, so the mom came by, which was VERY nice of her. I gave her a quick tour, kissed the kids and off I went to music practice.
Practice went well for the most part. I’m on keyboards and vocal this week. I really need to buy a keyboard so I can stop borrowing Martha’s. However, the one I want (Korg Triton LE) still goes for a LOT of money despite being several generations old now. I’m keeping my eye on two auctions on eBay for similar keyboards, but I doubt I can afford it (they are averaging $600 at this point, which is cheaper than the $1800 the church in NoNJ paid for one brand new, but still more than I can afford right now).
I got home around 9:15 p.m. and let the mom go home and put the kids to bed. I didn’t get done with that until 9:45 p.m. I went downstairs, moved the sheets I had washed earlier to the dryer, checked emails and then reheated some pizza for myself. Sat down and vegged for about 30 minutes then went upstairs and made the custom baby receiving blanket that I had to bring in to work today for a co-worker. Finished around midnight, quickly made up the bed in the guest bedroom with the newly dried sheets, and then went to bed. Long day yesterday.
This morning I woke up late. I don’t know how it happened – I honestly don’t remember the alarm going off at 6:30 a.m., but apparently it did and I turned it off and didn’t “hear” the alarm again until it went off at 7:30 a.m. Rushed out of bed and into the shower. Miracle of miracles – the kids totally behaved this morning and got ready as quickly as I did. Managed to get out of the house on time although I didn’t have time to do any of the chores I wanted to do this morning in advance of Denis coming home this afternoon.
