So it’s 4:52 p.m. and my office is empty. As in there are only about 5 of us left. You would think THIS was the holiday weekend, not next weekend. About 1 p.m. our personnel started dropping like flies.
I normally leave work at 5:15 p.m., because that is what time my bus pulls up outside my office building. By the time it was determined that I could probably leave early, it was too late for me to really take advantage of “early” and get home at an early hour. Because even leaving at 4:45 p.m. still means I’m home at 6:45 p.m. because I’d have to go to Port Authority. Waiting for my 5:15 p.m. bus STILL gets me home at 6:45, and I don’t have to put up with Port Authority. Trust me – it’s worth the wait.
And so here I sit, one of 5 employees left who tow the line, keeping this company afloat as all the other lollygaggers out there take off to enjoy their weekend.
Yeah, I was one of about 5 people left at my office late yesterday too. There was no point in me leaving early since I needed to be at church for practice anyway.
