All Atwitter Today

My oh my have we been a flurry of activity the past 12 hours. Denis baked another batch of cookies last night. We’re in the home stretch on cookies. We have packed 90% of our clothes and toiletries. We have packed 75% of the food we’re taking to the timeshare (in order to save on grocery costs once we’re there). We have packed up 100% of the DVDs/CDs we’re taking for entertainment purposes. We have wrapped 100% of the Christmas gifts for our families that we bought in advance in order to save on shipping (still have about 10% more gifts to actually purchase for family members – will have those shipped directly there).

Cooper the Dog has been dropped off at the vet. We have arranged for someone to come in and check on the cats and make sure they have food/water (although I may swap out Cooper’s dog food for cat food in his auto-feeder so that she doesn’t have to come at all, and we can leave out half a dozen large bowls of water which should last them).

There are a few items still on our list of things to do, and God willing I’ll be leaving work a bit early today if Mr. BIL can get all his stuff done by 4:30 p.m. before his 5 p.m. conference call. With any luck we’ll be on the road by 7 p.m.

VACATION TIME IS UPON US!

Correction. I baked TWO MORE kinds of cookies last night. Only two more for me to go. And you can let the loyal Cootie readers know we have decided not to bake cookies on our trip since we aren’t bringing our stand mixer and we don’t want to kill our wrists mixing everything by hand. Although that option still remains on the table.

What about the kitty litter? Who will empty that if nobody comes to visit the cats?

Well, I’ll be praying that you get out of work super early so you can leave well before 7pm ’cause otherwise that would put you here WELL past my bedtime!! Drive carefully, you kookie, cootie kids. Marmie and Pop will keep the light on. 🙂
    Love you.

Jesse and I (at least) are planning on brekkies with you guys tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you!

MB – the cats will be fine. We have two very large trays and only clean them out once a week ANYway, so it’s par for the course for them. Denis cleaned out both trays last night, so they are all set. And even if someone WAS coming over – I would NOT ask that person to clean out the litter trays!

Marmie – it’s NOT looking like I’ll get out of here early. In fact, I may not even get out of here at 6:30 p.m.! Mr. BIL has a lot he wants to get done today and as of 11:40 a.m. nothing has been accomplished and he’s about to go into an afternoon filled with meetings.

Jen – did I know that you were coming for breakfast? I don’t remember having that conversation. I know we’re doing a breakfast NEXT weekend. Because breakfast tomorrow with you guys wasn’t on my list. As such, we made plans to meet up with Gladys and her family for a late brunch tomorrow morning on our way up to NJ…

It wasn’t planned, but Mom said something about having breakfast for you before you hit the road and I thought we’d stop by. However, if you have plans, no biggie.

Jen – you can still stop by. We are hitting the road around 9:30 a.m. to meet Gladys et al. in Rockville, MD.

I was under the impression that you were stopping to meet up with Gladys on your way back down here next Friday, that’s why I was making breakfast. It’s no biggie for me, just wanted to make sure you ate before leaving. And, yes, the brunch with GGMa is next Saturday.

Gladys and I realized it would be easier to meet tomorrow on our way up rather than try to time it for a late lunch next Friday when traffic will be more unpredictable due to Black Friday.
