I can’t even tell you how excited I am that I have nothing to do tonight. Absolutely NOTHING. N-O-T-H-I-N-G. Just typing that gets me all giddy. I have two Netflix movies at home, Saved and In America – I’m in a Saved kind of mood, I think.
Tomorrow Denis’ family comes over to celebrate Christmas a bit early. In fact, now that I think about it the only thing I might have to do tonight is wrap gifts, if Denis hasn’t done it already. Because instead of having a big meal, Denis and I have opted to just make things like chicken tenders and bagel bites and little piggies in their warm buttery flaky blankets.
Meanwhile, Denis will be in the kitchen all night making cookies. He’s accepted the challenge to participate in our church’s yearly Cookie Exchange and has to make 21 dozen cookies by Monday evening. That’s 252 cookies, folks. And I don’t have to make a single one.
Mom, Dad and Jen – be prepared for an onslaught of cookies on Wednesday. My office will be getting a lot of them on Tuesday as well.
Jane spoke too early. She has a lot of laundry to do that she may not know about. But she does. And I haven’t wrapped a single gift yet, or made a single cookie. Good news is they knocked it back to only 19 dozen. Whoo Hoo!!!
[Homer mode] Ummmm, cook-ies…[/Homer mode]
Pop took my comment ~ Mmmmm, Cook-ies! One can never have too many cookies. But, here’s a suggestion ~ save some for yourselves by freezing them. There is nothing better than pulling out cookies during a big snowstorm. š
Yay for cookies! I have 6 dozen to add from our neighborhood cookie exchange.
I hope I don’t make a single cookie over the required 19 dozen. This isn’t as easy as I thought it would be going into this. Plus out of the first 16 I made this evening only 12 were usable and even that is stretching things. This might be a long two days coming up. If I have any extras I’ll bring them. Don’t worry.
How did you like Saved?
I loved it…wrote a post about it a few months ago. I thought it was just brilliant. Let me know how you liked it…and if it cured your boredom for the evening.
