Last night was music practice, so I was a bit nervous that I wouldn’t get anything done. Practice itself was super-quick though (it helps that we’re doing a Christmas carol as well as two songs that we’ve done before – we really only had to learn one song), and I got home around 9 p.m. instead of 10 p.m. I walked into the living room to find the kids listening to The Beatles with their dad. CootieGirl came running over, “We’ve been waiting for you so we could listen to ‘Yellow Submarine’!” she cried. Denis put that song on and CootieGirl and CootieBoy proceeded to begin marching around the room. I joined in, and CootieGirl started instructing me on what to do: “BIG marching, Mama! Let’s see it – BIG MARCHING! You can do it!”
When the song ended it was time for bed and after a few mild protests they were snug in their beds for the night.
With that done I started a load of laundry and then began doing our Christmas cards. We managed to get about 85% of them done last night. Denis opted to put Christmas stamps on his, so his haven’t gone out yet. I used regular stamps and mine went out this morning. There are some people we opted not to send cards to this year – people we haven’t spoken with in years, or who no longer send us cards either. Time to separate the wheat from the the chaff! I also found a LOT of wrong addresses on our labels (I must have printed the wrong file) so those haven’t gone out either.
I also managed to clear a few things off Tivo – 30 Rock, Pushing Daisies, Survivor. Do you watch ’30 Rock’? Because I LOVE ’30 Rock’. I know I say that all the time – but seriously, it’s one of the best written comedy shows on TV. Sure, ‘The Office’ is a sentimental favorite, but for really witty brilliantly funny writing, watch ’30 Rock’.
Before I went to bed I set the timer for another load of laundry, setting it to finish sometime this morning before I had to leave for work. And then after checking my email one last time for the day, it was off to bed for the night.
Did YOU have a productive night?
Not so much of a productive night… lets see, around 10AM yesterday it started snowing. I had been in a conf. all week so I hadn’t been to work and boy howdie was it nice to have a day off and that is exactly what I had. I didn’t answer the phone I didn’t check e-mail, heck I didn’t even bath until 6PM. It snowed and snowed and snowed some more.. until the ice started… then is snowed again. Stupid Sussex County NJ. They were supposed to come and plow the driveway (we hired some folks cause the driveway is so long) but they didn’t show up…. and it stopped snowing around 6:30. Anyway around 9PM, Anthony and I were out there clearing it all off as we knew we had to get to work this morning. Finished up around 10PM and went to bed. Lazy Day!
Ace, we were at a balmy 67 degrees last night as I drove home from music practice. As much as I love snow, I think I got the better deal.
Of course, next April when the drought begins nice and early due to the dry winter, I’ll be complaining about my 3 minute showers, brown lawn and dry brushing of teeth.
