I have frequently thought about doing a list of all the concerts I’ve been to in my entire life. For the typical person that list is probably way too long to even come up with a full list. But I’ve managed to write down enough concerts that while I may not have all of them, I know I have most of them (I’m not a huge concert-goer). What made me think to do the list was I recently remembered when I went to the HFStival in the summer of 1991 after I graduated college. I had no one to go with me, so I dragged my sister, but she was so bored (it wasn’t her kind of music) that we left mid-day and didn’t see the headliner (Violent Femmes – I STILL regret leaving that day). Other musical groups that day were Too Much Joy, The La’s, The Ocean Blue, The Pursuit of Happiness, Robyn Hitchcock, King Missile, Stress, Peter Himmelman, Y-Not?! (although we didn’t see all of those bands play). So anyway, it got me to wondering if I could truly remember every concert I had ever been to, and I challenged myself to come up with a list. It is most likely not all of them, but it’s as complete a list as I could possibly come up with.
Here we go, in alphabetical order (and listing opening acts where I can remember them) – and note that I’ll be adding entries as I remember them:
This is my very incomplete list. I’d have to check my ticket stubs to add to this list.

Squeeze (3 or 4 times)
Bon Jovi opening for someone (maybe 38 Special)
John Austin (with wife, Erin Echo)

Didn’t you see Jamiroquai with me in NYC just after we got married? If not, who did I go with to the NYC show?
Hey that’s right! We did go see Poole play…I had forgotten about that show!
Holy cow!! your lists are a zillion times as long as mine!! I guess I’ve just led a sheltered life. 😉
I picked up your meme and my list is posted here
Holy Cow! I’ve been to a fair number of concerts, but there is almost no overlap in our lists. I’ll have to try this one at home. And Peter Himmelman? Isn’t he the one that sings “Dixie, the Tiny Dog?” I love that song!
Did you forget U2? (Remember we asked you if you wanted to go see the Eagles with us and yous said “But we love you too!–and were going to that instead?. . .or was that just a ploy to get out of going with us. . .hmmmmm?
and I didn’t say YOUS in my last comment!!!!! Even tho I’m from NJ. It’s your screen here where I can’t see what I’m typing!!!
Miss Lydia – I WISH I had seen U2 in concert. I don’t think I refused The Eagles to see U2 – I think I told you that if YOU were going to see U2 I’d go, but not The Eagles. =)
YOUS GUYS!!! 🙂
