So I worked late on Wednesday and came in early yesterday and came in early today. All totalled, I ended up with 2.08 hours of OT that I’ll get paid for (yes, their timekeeping system is that specific). Sure, it’s not much once taxes are taken out, but every buck helps.
I just tried to get my boss’ GPS system running – he has a Garmin iQue. He wants to be able to synch his calendar and address book to the iQue for use when he’s traveling. If we used Microsoft Outlook I could have this done now – but this company uses Lotus Notes which I know next to nothing about. Which means I’ll have to go online to find out what to do. I’ve discovered that if The Company’s HQ doesn’t support the software, our IT department can’t provide any assistance.
For instance, I’ll be getting the Adobe Creative Suite with no problem, but I’ve been told if I have ANY issues with it (installation, bugs, error messages), The Company is not required to help me since it is not a corporate software. Weird, right? And since my boss’ Garmin was a prize from a golf tournament it is also not supported which means I have to do it all myself. *sigh*
