A Fun Night

We had fun at the ballgame last night. Home team won. The crowd for the game was SMALL – pitifully so. We got there late because Mr. BIL kept me at the office until 6:45 p.m. despite knowing I was attending the event. In any event, we got some free food in the picnic area and then headed to our seats. There was a good crowd from my company there, and the kids had a blast eating junk food, watching the game and talking to people. CootieBoy was quite charming, and a lot of the ladies there were very complimentary about him. Little player.

This corporate-sponsored event was more fun because I knew my co-workers better than when I went to the family picnic last year. When I attended the picnic I had only been with the company for 2 months and so there really wasn’t anyone to talk to. This time around I hung out with the 3-4 people I like the best here at the company, so it was fun. Wendy and her husband were there, and we all decided that we’re going to have another poker night very soon so that we can hang out.

We stayed until about 9:30 p.m. (we left soon after the 7th inning stretch) and finally took the kids home. We *could* have stayed longer, but I knew the kids would only start to misbehave as they grew more and more tired. And I won’t lie – I was tired too.

Upon arriving home I quickly made the final changes to my mom’s newsletter and went to bed. And I slept HARD – a bomb could have gone off in the room and I wouldn’t have noticed.

Hopefully today I’ll get out of here at a normal time so I can take one or both of the kids to the pool.
