My kids are too young for this, but I just read about an opportunity for young teens to enter a contest that allows them to be entered into a greeting cards scholarship contest to win $10,000. How awesome is that? I tell my husband all the time that I would love for our kids to get either academic or sports scholarships when it’s time for them to go to college, but I think this kind of scholarship would be fun to win since it leans towards creativity, which is just as important as academics and sports. There should be MORE creative arts scholarships out there for kids who are that amazingly talented.
The Gallery Collection is a business-to-business card company so they tend to specialize in business Christmas cards, but I think it’s great that they are giving everyone an opportunity to participate. If you have a teen (14 or older) that is creative, tell him or her to get crackin’ and come up with something great to contribute to the $10,000 Create-A-Greeting Card Scholarship Contest for high school and college kids. The deadline for the contest is January 15, 2008, which is more than enough time for that creative kid to come up with something great that will appeal to any kind of business, whether it’s a quirky card for a small startup or an elegant classic card for that Fortune 500 company.
Have fun!!
