How Sad Is It?

How sad is it that in one short month I’ll be back at work? I really wish we could have afforded for me to take off the full 12-week maternity period. Or even eight weeks…

In other news, how sad is it that my mom left today? My house has never been as orderly and clean as it has been since her arrival on August 17! It’s all downhill from here. Plus, I know CootieGirl really enjoyed spending time with her – she got lots of attention and kisses.

However, the good news is that I’ve lost half the weight I gained during the pregnancy. Only 25 pounds to go and I’ll be at pre-pregnancy weight and can begin my running program again with a goal of losing another 45 pounds by next April and running a half marathon next August. Can it be done? Sure…in due time.

Other good news? The fact that when CootieGirl and CootieBoy take naps at the same time I actually have time to do stuff like take a shower and surf the net. Something to look forward to each day!

The RNC convention starts this morning in NYC – I’m so glad I’m not commuting into the city this week. Mare-Bear told me this morning that her commute from Queens was HORRENDOUS and she ended up getting to work about an hour late. Yikes!

Feel VERY lucky to not have to commute into the city. My manager lives in NJ, and he boarded his bus at 7:00am, as he does every weekday. Instead of arriving at the office at 8:15am per usual, he arrived at 9:50am!!

Yes, you are lucky. I boarded a bus from NJ this morning at 6:20 and got off it at 8:30. Ugh! Some sort of accident or something. Enjoy the rest of the time home. They are two beautiful babies and God has blessed you!

Congrats on losing half the weight already. I also still have 25 lbs more to lose to get back to pre-pg weight. I tried waiting to see if it would come off “on its own” but 11 weeks post partum I still have 25 lbs to go….
Well, my SlimFast is calling (and baby is crying) LOL!

Nobody feels worse than I do about you having to go back to work early (or at all). I wish I would have been able to tell you to make sure you took at least 8 weeks off when you planned your maternity leave. I hope you can be a stay at home mom next year. I know you don’t like going to work. I don’t blame you. Maybe my new career in real estate teamed up with a part time job in a local business will give us the income we need to get by. That should at least make you a little happier.

Denis — you are such a sweatheart! I hope that your new career takes off like a rocket and that Jaynee can stay at home too!

Denis, I didn’t mean the post to say that I’m depressed about working – that’s not it at all. I’m just depressed that my maternity leave will be OVER in one month! But the good news is that we’re heading into holiday season – so I’ll have some days off once I go back to work. Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, plus T’giving and Xmas. My lament wasn’t about our ability for me to be a stay-at-home mom…

I meant your part-time job in a local business. If you were making a small amount of money with benefits and I had my RE job, we’d probably be okay. Something to think about for the future.
