It has been six months since I last posted about how much I loved MoviePass. Let me state again for the record: I love MoviePass. I’ve now been using it for 9 months and other than ONE hiccup at one theater, it has been seamless and easy to use, even with their new updates.
First a list of movies I’ve seen using my MoviePass since my last post:

Adding those to the previous list, it shows that I’ve used MoviePass 35 times since mid-September. That’s an average of 3.5 movies per month, for less than $10/month.
As for the one hiccup, CootieGirl and I went to go see “Ocean’s 8” and upon arriving at the theater, the movie was not listed at the theater in the MoviePass app. I confirmed it WAS playing at that theater, and logged out/in to the app again, but it still wasn’t showing Ocean’s 8. But there was a listing for “Movie Not Listed” in the MoviePass app, which I selected. The description even stated that could be used when a movie was at the theater that was not listed in the app. Unfortunately, it did not work and no funds were loaded onto my MoviePass card. As such, we ended up paying full-price for that movie because 1) we were already there and 2) CG really wanted to see the movie. Fortunately, it has only happened that one time, and wasn’t too big a deal, although I wasn’t happy about paying full-price to see a movie only earning [star rating=”50″ type=”percent”] from me.
There are other movies we saw without using MoviePass, usually because we wanted to see it immediately versus waiting for seats to be more readily available (we only go to theaters where we can see the assigned seating still available before we drive to the theater, so we know our likelihood to obtain tickets). But those were few and far between like Avengers Infinity War: [star rating=”95″ type=”percent”] and Ready Player One: [star rating=”75″ type=”percent”] in 2018 thus far (Ocean’s 8 notwithstanding).
All in all, I continue to be pleased with my subscription to MoviePass, and look forward to my continued usage. Have you signed up for it yet? They run deals all the time (and I know they get ragged about having a poor business plan that can’t make money) and I still recommend it.
