Last night there was NOTHING on tv and none of my DVDs really spoke to me, so I ended up watching “From Justin to Kelly” on HBO. Expecting the worst, it wasn’t that bad. The acting was nearly as wooden as I expected, the songs weren’t nearly as hokey, and the script was nearly as juvenile as I expected. Now don’t get me wrong – it was still wooden, hokey and juvenile. But not as bad as I expected it to be. I certainly wouldn’t ever recommend the movie. But if you are completely bored and not interested in cleaning your house or going outside to play, then surfing cable and finding this movie wouldn’t be a complete disaster.

Don’t ever mock me about the movies that I watch and like.
I should clarify even further that I was truly expecting THE WORST (a la “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me”) and was happy that it wasn’t the worst. It was simply poorly marginal (as in 1 1/2 stars out of five).
I am so glad to hear that I wasn’t the only one who out of boredom, bad tv and not wanting to fold yet another load of laundry also watched From Justin to Kelly! I agree with your review of it, although I did miss the ending, I was definitely expecting much worse of it!
I mock you (Jaynee, not Catherine – I wouldn’t mock anyone I don’t know =). ) with an eyeroll and condescending shake of my head. 😆
Jaynee, I totally agree with you about that movie. Of course everyone thinks I have bad taste when it comes to picking a movie. However, the movie was totally not what I expected it to be. I thought for sure that I was going to turn it off within the first 10 minutes. I even tried to get Anthony to watch it (didn’t happen). Greese it’s not, but much better than a lot of of those Teen Flicks that are out right now.
