Why I Love Netflix

I love Netflix. I just think it’s awesome that I can have 414 movies in my rental queue (340 available now), and just plow through them and know my list will never run low because movies will always be added on.

Last night we watched the disaster known as “Swimming Pool” – a plodding, pointless “mystery” that was not impressive at all. Yawn. We send that back today and hopefully get “Lost in Translation”, which Denis has already seen, but I have yet to see. The other two in my house right now are “Seabiscuit” and “Whale Rider”, which I hope to watch sometime in the next few days.

We have come to love NetFlix as well…especially on rainy afternoons like today. We currently have 117 movies in the queue and residing on our shelf currently is John Q, Waiting for Guffman, and The Pianist.

    Waiting for Guffman. Whoo Hoo!!!!

You failed to mention that you said you queued “Swimming Pool” because when I saw the trailer in the theater I supposedly said, “That looks intriquing.” Of course, I promptly fell asleep on our couch half-way through the movie. I love that couch. Or I just need sleep and I could fall asleep on a bed of nails given the opportunity to do nothing for just five minutes.

Okay, Mr. Smartypants, I amended my “intriguing” statement to “interesting”. How am I supposed to remember the exact statement you made nine months ago? It’s not like I write it all down…

netflix is hands down terrible. the discs are scratched and after the free trial ends the movies arrive late — sometimes even a MONTH LATE!

Cheryl, I disagree entirely! I’ve been with Netflix for over a year and I’ve never had the problems you describe. Only TWICE have I received a movie that was scratched and they promptly sent out a replacement upon my reporting it to them. And once my free trial ended I still had incredible service – receiving my DVDs within two days of shipping. The great thing about NEtflix is that they use a shipping center closest to you – mine is in northern NJ where I live. During your trial they use a different shipping center, but once you keep the membership after the trial they begin shipping from your closest local center, thus their ability to get movies to you in such fast time. I frequently send my movies back on a Monday morning and have a new movie in hand by Wednesday afternoon, Thursday at the latest. That’s pretty reasonable, in my eyes.

Sorry your experience wasn’t the same, but I’m sure it wasn’t the norm.
