Tomorrow begins the NCAA Basketball Tournament, which is my favorite time of year. I don’t follow sports at all, but come March Madness, I’m insane with obsession.
As always, I run the office pool, and this year we have the potential to have a $340 pot – possibly our highest ever. So far, however, I only have a $130 pot because people are sitting around waiting for the last minute to turn in their sheets.
The morning of the tournament is always a frenzy, and I just know that like CLOCKWORK, at 12:31 p.m. on first game day, the prez of my company will arrive with his picks, despite the fact that I don’t take sheets after the first game has officially begun. For two years now he hasn’t been able to officially play because he turns it in late.
I’m still hoping to score two tickets to the Sweet 16 games being played in East Rutherford. I bought four tickets for my boss (so I could get the mileage, and the company is reimbursing me), and I’ll be crying when I actually hand those tickets over to the client next week.
Go Kentucky!
St. Joe’s all the way.
Let the boss play this year.
Jen, I actually laughed out loud when I saw that you had picked St. Joe’s to win it all. Poor little Jen.
Thanks for your $10 – it’ll help the winner out a lot. ; )
Hmm…let me get this right. You’re dying to go to an NCAA March Madness b-ball game. You know I work in sports marketing…but you don’t ask me if can help you score some tickets?!?! Oy vay!
Laugh all you want. They’re undefeated this season, missy.
Yes, but did you see who they played? Gardner-Webb could have gone undefeated with that schedule.
Meredyth: To be honest, I didn’t even THINK of you as a possibility! Sure, I know you deal with sports, but I still consider you to be “corporate” because of the actual company you work for!!!
Next time I’ll know better.
So….got any tix? =)
