100. The Seventh Seal – saw 20 min and turned it off. HATED IT.
And I’m gratified to know that I’ve seen four more movies on this list than my sister – especially since I didn’t work at Blockbuster. Oh, and you’ll also see that there are some movies underlined but not bolded, meaning I own them but haven’t seen them. I’m counting the DVD/VHS collection of both me and my husband, since we’re “joint” owners of all our movies. If we own it and I haven’t seen it, it’s because it’s a movie HE bought for our collection.
Copy you on hating “The Seventh Seal”. Goodness gracious… there was one scene with some troupe screeching out a song, and it made me bleed out my eardrums. Plus, nothing happened.
You have Metropolis? Weird. Something to watch while I’m babysitting CootieGirl in May.
I started working on this list a la your sister’s, but I gave up. I’ll just put down my top favs from the list of 100. Here goes:
Shawshank Redemption
Casablanca
Star Wars
It’s a Wonderful Life
American Beauty
Maltese Falcon
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
The Wizard of Oz
Blade Runner
Duck Soup
P.S., we don’t own Duck Soup, as much as I want to. They don’t sell it on DVD any more.
Some how I missed “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre”. Add that to my favs list. As you can see, I’m a Bogart fan.
I thought we had Duck Soup on VHS?
We have Monkey Business on VHS. I taped a bunch of Marx Bros. movies on home tape, but I would never count those as own.
I just want to say that AVALON is not on the LIST!!
