So I flaked this morning and thought that church started at 10:45 a.m. That’s MY PARENTS’ church. Our starts at 10 a.m. This morning Denis woke me up and said, “Time to get ready for church.” I looked at the clock and saw 9:00 a.m. and thought, “Oh, I have plenty of time – I’ll just sleep for another half hour.” Woke up at 9:20 a.m. and again thought, “Ten more minutes and then I’ll have a full hour to get ready.”
9:45 a.m., Denis walks into the bedroom and wakes me up. “Church or no church?” he asks.
“Church,” I say matter-of-factly.
He says, “Then you’ve got ten minutes.”
“No, church doesn’t start until 10:45.”
He said, “Uh, no, it starts at 10.”
I’m an idiot. I’m also an idiot who couldn’t posssibly be ready in 10 minutes, so no church.
Actually, I walked into the bedroom at 9:15, our clock read 9:20, Jaynee sets it five minutes ahead. I thought that was enough time for Jaynee to get ready. It only takes us five minutes to get to our church. And gave her the longest amount of sleep time. She (and I) can both use it. I haven’t gotten it yet, but at least Jaynee did.
~for me, on the weekend, I usually ask myself “breakfast or lunch” and debate which one I want to wake up at the right time to eat….lunch usually wins
Before the baby, Jaynee used to ask herself lunch or dinner, now she asks herself is it Denis’s turn to get up to feed the baby or mine?
