Today was a nice Sunday. Woke up this morning and check in with my Blogathon blogs that I had been following. 2-3 of them quit before the end, but the rest made it. Out of the couple dozen that I started with, I am now following the RSS feed of the two blogs I found most interesting. Will continue looking at the others in case their non-Blogathon content remains interesting and will add them to the feedreader.
Then we went to church. We actually didn’t go to OUR church – we visited another church this morning. One that’s significantly closer to home. And one that meets in an actual church sanctuary. Novel idea! *lol* The sanctuary was a good size (holds about 250-300 total), the music was good (their female singer was OUTSTANDING), and the service was good for the most part. Denis and I were both very tired this morning, so we admit that the sermon made us sleepy – but we don’t know if it’s because the guy was boring or because we were so sleepy, so we’re hesitant to pass judgment on him just yet. The kids enjoyed the kids program a lot. We’ve decided to give the preacher another chance (heh) and we’ll go back in a few weeks for a second time and see if he IS boring or if we just need to go to bed earlier on Saturday nights from now on.
Then we went out to lunch at a nearby restaurant where I got to enjoy a bucket of steamed oysters. What a yummy surprise that was! I had at least 20-25 oysters and they were delicious. We’ve been to this restaurant twice now and both times they were excellent. So that may join the regular rotation of restaurants we go to on the rare occasion we go out.
After that we came home for a couple hours before heading over to Katie and Brian’s neighborhood to hang out at their pool for a couple hours. The kids had a blast playing together while the adults talked. A nice quiet way to end the day. While we were there Denis and I both recognized a woman hanging out, but couldn’t place her. It was driving us both nuts. Finally, as we were leaving the pool to come home I went up to her and said, “I know you from somewhere but can’t place it.” She laughed and looked over at her friends and said, “Anyone want to tell her where she knows me from?” She then turned to me and said, “Hell’s Kitchen.” OF COURSE!
