Last night as I was putting CootieBoy to bed he asked, “Is tomorrow Saturday?”
“No,” I replied.
“Tomorrow is Friday?” he asked.
“Yes.”
“Can we do nothing?”
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t want to do anything. Daddy and CootieGirl can do things, but you and me – we won’t do anything.”
“Well, we’ll have to do SOMEthing.”
“Nooo!” he whined. “I don’t want to!”
I laughed and kissed him good night. But this morning when he woke up the FIRST thing he said upon wiping the sleep out of his eyes was, “It’s a do nothing day!”
I won’t say it has been a do nothing day – I’ve got laundry going, and have spent some time doing stuff on various websites. But he and I DID take the time to watch the last half of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith,” which we did started last night (CB has officially seen the entire Star Wars canon, and has determined that he LOVES Obi-Wan Kenobi most of all (who doesn’t?)). He is now playing Lego Star Wars and is playing all the chapters from RotS that we saw this morning.
In a bit we’ll have some lunch and then I think I’ll take him up on his offer to do nothing all afternoon (save pick up CG from school). I can’t wait!
Does the “Do Nothing” day include calling an Authorized SONY dealer to have our TV repaired so everyone doesn’t look jaundiced in the Star Wars saga? I don’t want CB to grow up thinking everyone in a galaxy far, far away a long time ago had hepatitis. Thanks.
SONY has been called, smart aleck. They are ordering a new optical block and will call when it arrives so they can come and install it.
That is not smart aleck behavior. That is just plain old smart behavior — with a touch of funny thrown in to deflect any backlash.
Thanks for doing that.
