In Memory of Katherine Hepburn

I loved Katherine Hepburn. She stars in a few of my favorite movies (specifically, “The Philadelphia Story”, “Stage Door” and “Bringing Up Baby”). Whenever I see calla lilies I immediately quote a few of her lines from “Stage Door” (“The calla lilies are in bloom again – such a strange flower, suitable to any occasion.” It continues with: “I carried them on my wedding day, and now I place them here in memory of something that has died.”) She was simply gorgeous on screen.

I read her autobiography “Me” soon after it was published in 1991 and fell in love with her even more. She was a fiercely independent and vital woman – such a treasure and a real role model. Fortunately for us we have her many movies to continue entertaining us for generations to come.
