I got a call from my mom a little while ago – she and my sister took Harry to the vet to be put down this morning. According to the vet his kidneys had completely failed. Poor little guy. It’s going to be weird going to my parents house next weekend and not having him run and greet us and give us lots of love upon arrival.

As I was driving to the office I thought about how weird it will be when he doesn’t come tearing around the corner with that little skippity-hop he did because he was excited to see us. That’s when the heavy-duty crying started for me…

Jaynee, I’m sorry about Harry. I know what it’s like losing a family pet. Well, they really don’t seem like pets just another member of the family. Take Care of yourself. *hugs*
I’m so sorry guys! When it was time to put our doxies down (I must have been about 9), the vet came in and sat down with my mom and my sister and I. He explained that animals bring so much joy and happiness to our lives and that just because they don’t live as long as we do doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t care for them or love them. It’s just doing what you know you need to do when it’s time that’s so hard to do. It was the best thing to hear as a child about having pets of any kind.

Oh how sad! I’m soooo sorry. He will always remain in my mind as a sweet and hyper dog. Little love muffin. Rest in peace.
