I’m back from the field trip to the client’s house. What a sad situation. The man is deathly ill and decided to get his affairs in order. The doctor’s are only giving him 24 hours to a week to live. However, the obvious LOVE I felt in that house upon walking in was amazing. He is currently being cared for at his sister’s house with his adult children at his side. His wife (the second wife – the first is long deceased), for some weird unexplained reason, has chosen to stay at their own home rather than come stay with her husband in her final days. I find that to be very odd – if I was married 35 years to Denis and had only a week to live, he had better damn well find his way to my deathbed even if it’s at my sister’s house.
Anyway, the love of his children was a sight to behold – they deferred to him in every decision and when the dad kept telling Mr. BIL, “I don’t want this to cost too much money,” the son would cut in and basically say, “Don’t worry about money – you are priceless to us and therefore worth every penny we spend to make sure there is no stress for your wife.”
He was a very very nice man and I’m already sad for their loss even though it hasn’t happened yet.
