We didn’t go to the pool last night. Instead, we went to Lowe’s where I picked up a single 18″x18″ Novalis vinyl floor tile. It cost $2.21. I predict I’d need about 50 120 of them to cover the kitchen and breakfast area – making it about a $125 $250+ project. The tile looks GREAT – a nice match to the maple cabinets without clashing with the countertops, and it also matches the coffee colored walls. And in the event we opt to only get new countertops in the future, it should be easy enough to find something that doesn’t clash. I’m excited about that project once I have the money saved up for it.
CG and I then headed over to a local burger joint for dinner. We had a good time giggling and being silly while we nibbled french fries and sipped milkshakes. Then it was off for home where we snuggled under a freshly-laundered blanket watching that High School Musical reality show. She went to bed without complaint and I went back downstairs to chill.
I should have hopped on the computer to work on my mom’s tea stuff, but frankly, I wasn’t in the mood. I’ll do it tonight though, so that Pop can take stuff back with him after he drops off CB on Wednesday. I also need to go through my blankets and decide which ones Pop will take back with him so Mom can put them in her open houses this fall.
Speaking of blankets, the woman who initially wanted to buy all my fabric changed her mind. Oh well. I decided to go ahead and sign up for a craft fair that is taking place in mid-November. That’s perfect “Christmas shopping” time, and the price was reasonable, so I figured I’d go for it. They are supplying tables and table covers, which is helpful because it means I ONLY have to take my blankets – much more convenient. I also put on the application that I may want to sell some of my sister’s jewelry and my mom’s looseleaf tea, so we’ll see how that goes.
Okay, I have a 17 minute dictation job to do, so let me go get started.
Are you still planning to go through your Fiesta for Dad to bring as well? And don’t forget the ladder display piece for the blankets. 🙂
Mom, that ladder is a ladder we use all the time – I’m loathe to give it up for 5-6 months just to try and sell a couple blankets. And if I can get Denis to go up in the attic tomorrow and bring a few boxes of Fiesta down, yes, I hope to give Dad some Fiesta to bring to you.
Make sure the next you go to the “local burger joint” for dinner you take your french fries and dip them in your shake then eat them… I hear its all the rage.
Remeber the above line… then e-mail me in the future when you see it again. *grins
I want to do those vynal tiles in my kitchen, too. You’ll have to let me know how the project goes!!!
