Getting Fit While Giving Help

When we still lived in the NYC area I took up running for a brief moment in time. I only did a handful of races, but the one I enjoyed the most was a fundraiser for charity. I only raise a couple hundred bucks (if that), but it made the race that much more impactful for me.

I don’t know if I’ll be getting back into running anytime soon, but when I hear about charity races I do admit that I think, “I should…” So when I heard about the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk I definitely thought, “I should…” and will be finding out more information about any walks in my area. Because I can certainly WALK for charity, right?

The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk® is considered to be the nation’s biggest awareness event of the year, with organized walks in more than 600 communities around the country. My area has one more walk coming up (the other two have already taken place), and I just might sign up. It’s in September and will be in Rock Hill, which is very close to where I live. They haven’t mentioned how long the walk will be, but according to the website they are normally 2-3 miles. Totally doable.
