Frustrating Day Today

Mr. BIL is driving me nuts today. Once again he can’t find a file that he needs. He distinctly recalls giving it to one of the summer clerks, but that clerk says he doesn’t have it. I scoured my entire cubicle and Mr. BIL’s entire office. And since I was not here the day the file was created (because it was my birthday), I have no idea what I’m really even looking for.

I did, however, find an email from Mr. BIL to the summer clerk saying, “Hey, see me about this matter,” which definitely connects the clerk to the subject, so I’ve written the clerk a follow-up email about it.

But in the meantime, Mr. BIL’s office is just a disaster that needs to be dealt with. I attempted to deal with it while he was on vacation a couple weeks ago, but it was just overwhelming. So I told him today that I was willing to come in this weekend to do some much-needed filing. He didn’t say yes, but he didn’t say no either. Even if I just come in for 2-3 hours tomorrow I think it would be beneficial. Plus I could use the OT so that I have the money to buy the storm doors for the house that we want installed (fortunately I have a $100 Visa gift card to help with that expense).

So before I leave today I’ll volunteer again, and probably come in tomorrow afternoon.

Update at 2:48 p.m.: Mr. BIL now thinks he took the file home. Grrrr…. in other news, I volunteered to come in tomorrow and he said, “I’ll take you up on that another time – I’m not planning on working this weekend.”

One, I hope the summer clerk actually created the file and..

*lol* Alex has been summarily removed. And the clerk swears he didn’t have the docs. Mr. BIL just thought he remembered having the docs when he was that the courthouse last week, and asked me to look in that client’s folder. Not there. I’m sure the file is in the building, but the question is WHERE?
