A Bit of a Meme

Saw this on the blogosphere a few weeks ago and plugged in the questions but never actually wrote out the answers. Here they are now:

1. If money were no object, what would your dream home look like? Big enough for privacy, but small enough for intimacy. I don’t need anything crazy. A gourmet kitchen for Denis and a library for all my books. A basement geared for fun – pool table, theater area, bar area, et al. And a nice giant pool in the backyard.

2. If money were no object where would you shop for clothes? I’m pretty casual, so I don’t see going crazy with the clothes unless I were about 50 pounds lighter (which I hope to be by February 2009). I suppose the only splurge would be to fill a shoerack with Christian Louboutin shoes because I think they are amazing shoes.

3. If money were no object where would you like to go on vacation? Antartica. Seriously.

4. If you could go back in time with whom would you spend a day with? My grandmother when she was still single. She has told stories of dance cards completely full for a night, and I’d love to go out dancing with her when she was at the height of her single days.

5. If you could be an animal for a day what would you be and why? Fennic fox. Because they are so darned cute.

6. What is the bravest thing you have ever done? Sad to say I don’t think I’ve done anything truly BRAVE that I can think of. Nothing I’d qualify as brave at any rate.

7. What is the best compliment you have ever received? I don’t need compliments as words so much as attitudes. I love when people who don’t know me well finally see my character and realize I’m someone they want to hang out with. Getting asked to that first happy hour and getting genuine disappointment when you can’t come…makes me feel liked. I don’t need someone to actually compliment me.

8. What gift have you received that you will always treasure? My children.

9. If you could only have one favorite food for the rest of your life, what would it be? I’m going to go with a favorite MEAL: filet mignon, baked potato slathered in butter, garlic toast and a huge glass of chocolate milk with Malibu Rum. I’d eat that every day. If I can only pick one FOOD, then I have to say chocolate.

10. What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Brownie batter, followed VERY closely by Cookie Dough ice cream.

11. When you were a child what did you want to be when you grew up? I always ALWAYS thought I’d be a kindergarten teacher.

12. Besides God who has influenced you the most? No one. I am my own person.

13. What part of your daily routine do you enjoy the most? Putting my son to bed. For two reasons: It means peace and quiet will reign in the house momentarily, and because he’s so sweet as we’re having one last cuddle before he goes to sleep.

14. If you won 1 million dollars what would you do with it? Well, after taxes that leaves about $500K. $100K to tithe, $50K to charity, $50K spread out to friends and family, $100K into kids’ college fund, $150K towards building our dream house, $50K to pay off debt and do some splurge shopping.

15. What is your most fervent prayer? That my kids grow up to be mature, responsible, loving adults with an unending desire to love God and do what’s right in the world.
