TV: Dancing With the Stars Finale

Okay, so I STILL say that Mel B’s paso doble from last season is the best routine ever on the show, but Kristi Yamaguchi’s freestyle with Mark Ballas was pretty darn fun:

I LOVE watching Ballas dance. His moves are so crisp and clean that he’s a marvel to watch. I’m glad he made it to the finals this year because he was robbed last year when he and his partner (the Cheetah chick) were voted out WAY too early.

The other part I enjoyed last night was Adam Corolla. I’m not a huge fan of his in general, but I did enjoy his speech last night, which was surprisingly optimistic:

“This is why the terrorists hate us. And it’s not the glitter and it’s not the pomp and circumstance. We’ve got black and white, we’ve got Hispanic and Asian, we got gay, straight, and [Steve] Guttenberg, all working together for one common goal: to get the mirror ball. And the mirror ball doesn’t care what color you are, and it doesn’t care how rich your parents are, and it doesn’t care what God you pray to. It’s an even wooden floor, and may the best man or woman win. And I say God bless Dancing with the Stars, and God bless the USA.”

For kicks, here is the Mel B. paso doble that I love:

All in all a great final and the right person won. I loved Adam C.’s speech as well.

Aw, I FF through Carolla’s speech when I watched it this morning. I just figured it was more of his uncomfortable schtick.

Kristi was amazing from start to finish.
