Raining and Pouring

Last night Denis discovered that our water heater has sprung a leak. It’s a small leak – maybe one drip every 60 seconds, but it’s enough to warrant bringing in a plumber and possibly getting a new tank (the one we have is from 1994).

The tank we need is running about $400-500 at the local Big Box. Add in plumber fees and we’re easily looking at $600-700 that we need to fork out in the next week or so for this.

So much for putting our tax refund into a savings account. AND the kicker is that we will have to use Disney money for this immediate need, and hope we get our tax refund before our trip so that we do have spending money at Disney.

*sigh*

I’m REALLY hoping the plumber says, “Hey – you don’t need a new tank – that’s an easy fix – you just need to solder this pipe. That’ll be $20 for the soldering and labor.” THAT would be awesome.

Honey, water tanks tend to last between 10 and 12 years. We’re on borrowed time on this one. Looks like a new tank for us. The good news is we won’t have to replace again for another ten years or so.
