Each month Denis and I dutifully send off our $30 a month to our internet provider. That’s $360 per month that we could be using on something else. But, we like our internet (obviously) and so we continue to send off that check.
What if you didn’t have to? What if you had the opportunity to pay for your internet charges up front and have it covered for life. Of course, there are a couple hitches, the main one being – what if you move to an area not supported by that provider? But, I suppose if you knew for a fact you were going to remain in the same town for the rest of your lives, it might be worth it to try and pay up front for your internet service for life.
Charter Communications is offering an opportunity to do just that. How? By offering the program up for auction! Visitors who register to participate in the auction will be given the opportunity to bid on receiving Charter High-Speed® Internet for Life. As I said, you have to live in an area that is covered by Charter service (you can search by zip code on the website to make sure you are in their service area). If you are, then you qualify to enter the auction to bid. Bidding starts at $10. Now, since this is “for life” it means forking out big bucks – for instance, $360 per year x 10 years = $3,600. But if you can pay $3,600 and get it for 20 years, then is it worth it to you? Especially given the fact that service charges may increase in the future? It makes sense to me!
