CootieBoy is sick. We thought he was just pining for CootieGirl in her absence, but he was, in fact, sick. This morning at church he threw up. Not good. When I got home he was on the sofa laying down, and I went and smothered him in kisses and hugs for a few minutes. I then ate a quick lunch and headed out the door to work my OT hours today. I wish I could be home cuddling with him though, especially since he specifically said, “Mama, will you come sit with me?” Breaks my heart that I couldn’t do that for him.
CootieGirl’s sleepover went great. She was chirpy and happy this morning when she got to church, and told me how much fun she had. Her friend’s mom said they were perfect, and CG only had one issue right around bedtime when she was a bit scared about going to bed (since it wasn’t her own bed in her own room in her own house). But the mom was able to make her feel better by pointing out all the angels in the room watching over them, and with that CG went to sleep.
Church went well this morning. We sang two very random songs, but they were specific to the message. We first did an a capella version of Otis Redding’s “Chain Gang” followed up by “Follow the Money” by The Proclaimers. The sermon was about employers and employees honoring and respecting each other (we’ve been doing a series on relationships – parents to kids, husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, etc. Today’s was employers to employees.
Okay, let me get back to work – the sooner I get it done, the sooner I can go home and cuddle my son and make him feel better.
