On Taking Meds

So I mentioned in my last post that I was shocked that CootieBoy took his meds without complaining, and not only that – he ASKED for them. That’s something only CootieGirl does. It shows me how much CB hated that cough he has right now.

In Denis’ case, since we don’t know if he has the flu or food poisoning, it’s hard to figure out if he needs medical attention or just a day off to recuperate. Fortunately, I got an email from him a while ago saying that he hadn’t thrown up in a few hours and had just enough energy to take a bath and fall into bed for a long sleep.

Fortunately we aren’t a family that has a medicine cabinet filled with meds. The only prescription meds we have in the house are the Valium I needed last year for the pain I had last year due to an infection on my thigh. And those expire in a couple months. It always boggles my mind when I see how expensive medications can be – it’s a wonder anyone who is sick can even survive. One of my co-workers lives with her mother who is on an inordinate amount of medication. It’s almost as though my co-worker earns a salary just to help her mother pay for meds. It’s sad.

There is an online pharmacy called Edrugstore.md that claims to have the lowest online prices for name brand medications. They don’t sell generics and have been providing service for eight years. For an online company, that’s pretty impressive. I’ll probably tell my co-worker about it and see if any of her mother’s meds are on their list of medications.
